Bhutanese Refugees or Bhutaneserefugees.com is a website dedicated to Nepalese of Bhutan who were treated and became foreigners in their own birth place by the Government of Bhutan. They were driven out of Bhutan, their home of many generations and ended up in Nepal in early 1990s.
Hundreds and thousands of them came to Nepal but nothing much or enough were done by the Nepal government, neither to pressure the Government of Bhutan to take the Bhutanese citizen of Nepalese origin back or to provide them means and ways to earn their living in Nepal. Bhutanese refugees are living in below standard living condition in few different UN camps in the eastern Nepal.
Few foreign aids and organisations have given helping hands. Photo Voice and Bhutanese Refugee Support Group both based in the UK are some of the volunteer aid organisation. Bhutanese Refugees website is run by these two volunteer groups. It is not a Nepalese run organisation but it involves Nepalese of Bhutan so thought to add this organisation as a part of NepaleseAbroad.com
