Nepal plane crash kills 22 passengers

Small plane operated by domestic airline Tara Air carrying three crew and 19 passengers crashed shortly after taking off from a small airstrip of Lamidanda, Khotang District about 150 kilometres east of Kathmandu on Wednesday.
The Canadian built Twin Otter (9N-AFX DHC-6/300) was on a charter flight carrying pilgrimage to Khotang District. Plane was returning from Lamidanda carrying pilgrimage to Kathmandu when it lost contact shortly after takeoff and found to have crashed into Manedanda (8,900 feet) in Sirichaur � 9 in Okhaldhunga district.

There has been some confusion about the nationality of the deceased passengers. Later report and finding have identified the passengers to be Bhutanese nationals but have claimed to be locals to qualify for a cheaper air fares. Names of the deceased passengers have been revealed:

8. Phub Gyelmo, Phadekha, Wangdue (Mother of Tsagay, monk, Dochhoety Goenpa, Paro)
9. Tshering Wangmo, Talo Punakha (mother of Yeshey, Gokha).
10. Dorji Bidha, Talo Punakha (Sister of Sl. No. 9, Tshering Wangmo)
11. Pema Wangmo, Talo, Punakha (Daughter of Sl. No. 10, Dorji Bidha)

14. Kelzang, Hebisa, Punakha (Mother of Ngawang Tenzin, Tailoring Shop, 17613667)
15. Lhazin Wangmo, student – Class XI Science, MHSS, (recipient of Class IX Topper Certificate in 2008 from His Majesty – daughter of Tshering Zangmo, Hebisa, Punakha. She was adopted by Sl No. 16, Kelzang.
