Rita Rana – The first Nepalese female to join the British Army

27-year-old, Private Rita Rana, the daughter of former British Gurkha soldier is the first Nepalese female to join the British Armed Force. By joining the regular army in 2010, Private Rana has broken the long tradition kept by Nepalese men only joining the British Defence Force.
She is now part of 20th Armoured Brigade within the British Defence Force.
