There are some Nepalese in Fiji, who has been there for few generations. This could surprise many Nepalese to know that there are Nepalese living there for generations in the South Pacific Island nation of Fiji. No doubt that there are many Nepalese who may not have heard the nation called Fiji, let alone to know that there are Nepalese living in Fiji.
Now, in recent years there were few Nepalese international students who went to Fiji to do their higher education. But, there are some news of confusion between the students and the institution about the course, fee and the facilities.

Yeah, that sounds just like Indians

Ofcourse not all Indians rip off other people – so many million Indians are poor, unemployed and dont have enough money and brains to run agencies to rip off people.

So, its good news that not all Indians are bad and rip off other people.

    Dear Writer

Thank you for your comments regarding Nepalese students coming to Fiji to get higher education at the tertiary institutions.
I met one of those students who is here and he advised me that his parents had paid over USD14,000.00 through an agent in India. He is a student in tourism industry. I was quite shocked at this revelation as you will understand that above amount when converted to Fiji Dollars will be over FJD24,000.00. Accommodation, etc. is not included. Whilst it is understood that the tuition fee structure for foreign students in Fiji is higher but I feel that this young mans parents were ripped off by the Indian agent.
So, please Nepali brothers and sisters be careful and my suggestion is that you liaise directly with the institutions you want to study in Fiji. few institutions in Fiji where you will get a straight forward deals are: Fiji National University, University of the South Pacific (a regional institution) and the recent established University of Fiji. Please do research on internet and contact them directly instead of coming through agents. Some agents will rip you off.I am not saying all as there are still good people around in this world.

    All the best.
