Gurkha Nepalese Community is a Nepalese community based in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. It was establisehd on 20th September 1995. Community is made of mixed Nepalese people of Nepalese origin who are currently residing in Sydney and holding various residency status: students, temporary/permanent resident, Australian citizens and other residency status. Mr Lokman Limbu was first elected as the President of the community with Late Mr Purna Bahadur Limub as it’s Vice-President.
The community got it’s name Gurkha Nepalese as most of the early members who began this community either served as Gurkha soldier in the Brigade of Gurkhas or were family members of the Brigade of Gurkhas, but still Nepalese in heart. Most of the early founding memebers of GNC also lived in Sydney suburb of Marrickville.
GNC also organises sporting activities, children activities and other functions.
