61 Nepalese workers rescued from Libya but 47 still being held hostage

Libya, where Nepalese workers where held hostage by their employer.
Sixty-one Nepalese migrant workers held hostage by their employer in Libya were rescued and are now flown to Nepal. But forty-seven of them still held hostage by their employer back in Libya.
Sixty-one of them 21 on Tuesday and 40 on Wednesday arrived in Nepal. Nepalese Embassy in Cairo, Egypt rescued them with the help of Foreign Employment Promotion Board (FEPB) and International Organisation for Migration (IOM).
Hundred and eight (108) Nepalese worker went to work in Libya three-years ago through Dhaulagiri Manpower Company were held hostage by their employer demanding the expenses they made on behalf of the workers visa and air tickets to Libya. But the workers were not being paid for twelve months.
Nepalese Embassy’s officials and the International Organisation for Migration (IOM) representatives are still negotiation for the release of remaining forty-seven (47) Nepalese workers held hostage by their employer in Libya.
