British Gurkha Welfare Society was formed by dedicated Gurkhas and few British Citizens to see and meet the need of ex-British Gurkhas in Nepal. Money for this charity is raised through fund raising events, charities, donations and one day pay scheme from the serving member of the Brigade. Full membership in the society includes hundreds of former British Gurkha soldiers coming from all ranks and stripes including British Officers, Senior Police Officers and Government employees and Associate Members. One of the main role of British Gurkha Welfare Society (BGWS) is to seek and obtain equal treatment for the Gurkhas same as their British counterpart.
