Lumley’s visit last year was supposed to be a private one. But the news spread out amongst the Gurkhas and their families of her arrival. The Gurkhas and their wives and family member from various parts of Nepal turned up at the Kathmandu International Airport to meet and greet her. Media was made aware of this as a result all sorts of journos turned up at the scene for the reporting. Ms Lumley, the little known British actress was walking the walk of her life like a famous celebrity on a red carpet sort feeling as she landed in Kathmandu.
Oh boy, she was like the head of a state. She met Nepalese PM and everyone that’s above, below and beside, inside, front and behind him. After 2-3 day she was supposed to arrive at Dharan at 12 noon visiting Damak. Well she was adopting Nepalese culture of being late and not on time. She and her team arrived only at around 4-5pm. We waited for her for hours to take this shot of Ms. Lumley. Program went on but as it was planned…
