New Zealand with two main islands, North and South Islands, South Island which looks similar to the map of Nepal. New Zealand which is roughly double the size of Nepal is an Oceanic country. Nearly three score years ago, Edmund Hillary from New Zealand, the bee keeper and Tenzing the guide from Nepal together walking tall on the summit of Everest, world highest point on Earth, has truly contributed a close relationship between these two nations. Beginning at government and official level, but now spreading to common individuals, building a good and close friendship among themselves.
Nepalese living in New Zealand has increased since 1980s. So, to further the good relationship between the people of these two nations, New Zealand Nepal Society (NZNS) , was established on 30th of August 1995 in Auckland, the largest city as well as the commercial capital of New Zealand, located on the North Island of the nation.
NZNS, is non-profit organisation supported by volunteers, who are living all over the New Zealand, but most of the living in Auckland. It is multicultural and multi-ethnic organisation.
Some of the social activities, NZNS organises are New Year celebrations with picnic and BBQ, festive and functions, blood donations, Sporting and general meetings to discuss the issue and programs.
