Nepal’s first aircarft called ‘Danfe’ designed and built by young Nepalese Engineering students from Pulchowk Engineering Camups, Lalitpur has successfully completed its test flight in the western city of Pokhara. The two seated ultra-light weight aircraft weighing about 400kg was part of eight students, three years academic research project.
Test flight was led by Russian Pilot, Alexander Maximov who holds Nepalese license, aircraft flew about a minute covering a distance of about 1 mile. It cost about US $ 12,500. This historic first Nepalese made aircraft was built using Austrian engine and other locally available materials. Aircraft was build by Danfe Fabrication Group.
This historic flight was witnessed by government officials, students, family and friends, locals and other curious by standers.
